Knitting Goals

I feel like I've been working on the same project for months...because I have! Dreaming of Spring is a lace shawl reminiscent of spring time with leafless vines surrounding a field of tiny snowdrop flowers. I love the delicacy of the silk and merino lace yarn and how it works up into an intricate cobweb. The results of using lace is always stunning. However, the fine yarn that makes it so beautiful is exactly what makes the project take so long. To knit an entire shawl takes many hours.

My goal is to finish this shawl before the summer ends so that I can get relevant pictures. I made the mistake of taking pictures of another shawl during the winter. The pictures came out beautiful except that there were no leaves on the trees and the name of the shawl is Garden Path. Of course, I could have just changed the name, but it really reminded me of a garden path, so the name stayed and I took new, relevant pictures a few weeks ago.

The heat, humidity, and all the extra work in the yard and garden that summer brings are making me tired. Don't get me wrong, I love the bounty of fresh veggies and bright sunny days, but my daily To Do list is about a mile long and growing by the minute. By the time I get to sit down and enjoy my knitting in the evening there isn't much time left. I am about halfway finished with Dreaming of Spring, but I have high hopes for reaching my goal.

What are your summer knitting goals?
